There are a number of organisations who offer services and assistance to not-for-profit groups, either pro-bono or at a subsidised cost.

Philanthropy Australia


Philanthropy Australia is the national peak body for philanthropy and is a not for profit membership organisation.  Members are trusts and foundations, families and individuals who want to make a difference through their own philanthropy and to encourage others to become philanthropists. Its mission is to represent, grow and inspire an effective and robust philanthropic sector for the community.
The Philanthropy Australia website has a section designed to answer many of the questions about looking for funding and to guide organisations through the grant seeking process. The Grantseekers Guide To Trusts And Foundations is an excellent resource and can be downloaded for free from Philanthropy Australia’s website.

goodcompany connects skilled professionals with charitable organisations in need of pro bono assistance. It matches those who’d like to help with those who need their skills.

goodcompany places individual volunteers who perform specific roles, as well as small volunteer teams who are project managed by a goodcompany  Development Volunteer. Volunteers come from a variety of disciplines and may be self-employed, semi-retired, or professionals.

Our Community


Our Community is the national gateway for low cost and free tools, help sheets, advice, information and training. It is aimed at helping Australia’s community groups and not for profits manage, market and operate themselves better, as well as find funds, grants, board members and insurance, form partnerships with business, and use technology more effectively. Our Community operates a comprehensive online grants database, distributes the EasyGrants newsletter, and is also home to the GiveNow.com.au giving service which explores different ways of helping community groups.

Volunteering NSW

 
The Centre for Volunteering is the peak body in NSW promoting and supporting volunteering and community participation.
The Centre for Volunteering includes Volunteering NSW - a service delivery arm, and the School of Volunteer Management,  a registered training organisation that provides volunteer management education and training activities.
The Volunteer Referral Service provided by Volunteering NSW can assist community organisations find suitable volunteers and highly experienced interviewers will undertake the first stage of the volunteer referral process on behalf of the community organisation.
