Indigo Express Subfund

"If you can't read, you can't learn"

Indigo Express is a philanthropic fund focusing on funding literacy programs for girls under the age of 18. It partners with a number of existing literacy based groups who are highly experienced in delivering literacy programs to disadvantaged girls in Australia.

The charter of the Fund is to identify literacy-based programs related to Australian based girls, indigenous and non-indigenous, and to raise funds to support these programs; and to develop girl-to-girl peer networks and support programs where children can assist children develop reading skills.

The fund is collaborating with the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern to develop a pilot program focused on delivering intensive literacy support for Indigenous children. The Fund’s name was inspired by the name of the founder, Dr Catriona Wallace’s nine-year-old daughter, Indigo, who has a reading disability.Visit www.indigoexpress.org.au
