The Sydney Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter. One of the ways in which we do this is through a range of events, seminars, networking meetings and fundraising functions that we hold throughout the year for all the different people with whom we connect.
Women Mobilising Millions
The Sydney Community Foundation supported the recent Women Mobilising Millions events held in Sydney. We were fortunate to be joined for a breakfast session for SCF directors and supporters by Helen LaKelly Hunt, co-founder of the Women's Funding Network in the US and Christine Grumm, President and CEO of the Network. Helen and Christine spoke to the group about the work that they do to increase giving to work that supports the inclusion and development of women and girls, and facilitated a discussion about growing the Sydney Women's Fund of the SCF. The breakfast was generously hosted by Women at Freehills.
Later in the day Helen and Christine dazzled a ballroom full of guests who are committed to philanthropic giving, with Christine's uplifting message about the incredible difference that can be made by focusing giving on support for programs for women, and Helen's intriguing and funny story about growing up as an heiress and her decision (with her sister) to make significant gifts to this funding area.

The Sydney Community Foundation was delighted to support the Women Mobilising Millions campaign in Australia and is proud to have created the Sydney Women's Fund subfund, a public fund to which all donors are invited to give, to demonstrate their support for the inclusion and support of women and girls in our community.
All donations to the Sydney Women's Fund are pooled and carefully invested. In time the interest earned on this fund will be distributed as grants to community organisations in Sydney who are working towards a sustainable and inclusive community by providing programs for marginalised women and girls. f you would like to donate to the Sydney Women's Fund, please click here.
