Basic facts

The Foundation was established recently and at this stage has limited funding available for grant making. We are open to receiving applications throughout the year and are also researching funding opportunities in our core areas together with our donors, Board members and community partners.

Should you have a specific project for funding, we suggest you submit a one page summary first before completing our detailed application form. For more details, please see: Grantmaking Guidelines.

Applications are invited from authorised charitable institutions with deductible gift recipient (DGR) status as well as for projects that deliver a benefit or add value to a community. Grants are not made directly to individuals.

Sydney Community Foundations provides grants for projects in its selected focus areas. For more details, please see: Grantmaking Criteria.

The application process may include presentations from applicants or site visits by Board members. All grants are accompanied by an agreement that details the conditions under which the funds are being awarded. All grant recipients are required to provide details of their evaluation process and present final reports. This allows Sydney Community Foundation to gain an understanding of the overall effect these grants have on the entire community.
