An important new belonging project for Sydney Community Foundation alleviating the pain and isolation felt by losing a parent, sibling or legal guardian. Camp Magic® equips 60 children to navigate their grief in a healthy way for lifelong success.
1 in 20 Australian children aged 7-17 will experience the death of a parent before they reach the age of 18. Avoiding dealing with the emotion of their traumatic experience results in mental health issues, addiction, self harm, anger management, even suicide.
Camp Magic® is Australia’s largest and leading grief education and support program for bereaved children and teenagers. Campers attend a free transformational weekend, combining fun, physical challenges with grief education and emotional support.
