By My Side – Keeping Women out of Prison
By My Side sub-fund’s single purpose is to support women and children whose lives are adversely impacted by the criminal justice system.
Founded by Helen Wiseman, recognised by Australia’s 100 Women of Influence Awards for her philanthropic leadership, the By My Side sub-fund supports charitable organisations including the Women’s Justice Network, SHINE for Kids and The Miranda Project.
The fund advocates for, and funds mentoring and other support to help women offenders and their families to rebuild their lives and their sense of belonging.
The fund aims to support women and children affected by the justice system and provide the feeling that someone is by their side.
Helen is a former board member of Sydney Community Foundation, and a member of Sydney Women’s Fund Advisory Council and a Patron of SHINE for Kids.
Funds raised by KWOOP (Keeping Women out of Prison coalition) are held and granted through Sydney Community Foundation’s By My Side fund.
