Our tribute lunch this week for Sydney Community Foundation patron Dame Marie Bashir was a special day with so many generous and wonderful Sydney women in the room. It was a big day for us – first 100 days of my role as CEO of Sydney Community Foundation, the launch a new brand, this website, and my first major event – Saluting Sydney Women 2014. It was so fantastic to have so many of you there with us.
It is a testament to the enthusiasm and appetite for a meaningful, high impact Community Foundation for Sydney.
I am truly proud of the achievements of my team, our board and patrons in such a short space of time and am focused on delivering much more for Sydney in the coming months. Great cities need great foundations to support and give back to their communities.
Many of you that attended yesterday’s lunch have asked for a copy of my speech. I am honoured to have had the opportunity to pay tribute to Her Excellency Professor Dame Marie Bashir, AD, CVO and to have been able to officially announce Deanne Weir’s commitment to support Sydney Women’s Fund projects with $100, 000 per year for five years, a total of $500,000 for Sydney Women.
