The Fund honours the work of Maybanke Anderson, writer, leader, feminist, key early childhood education advocate and promoter of the rights of women and children in Australia.
At this year’s lecture, we remember the late Rosalind Maybanke and Tony Strong who established the Maybanke Fund in 2011. Jane Spring, a great great great niece of
Maybanke Anderson, is continuing the work of the Maybanke Fund. As a public
sector leader and diversity advocate, Jane is committed to fulfilling
Maybanke’s aspirations of creating education opportunities for women and First
Nations communities.
The guest Speaker for the lecture will be Georgie Dent – The Parenthood Georgie Dent is a writer, author, former lawyer and prominent advocate for women, gender equality, children and families. She is the CEO of The Parenthood, a not-for-profit parent advocacy group representing over 80,000 parents, carers and supporters. The Parenthood campaigns for paid parental leave, universal access to quality early childhood education and care and family friendly workplaces. She is a mum of three and lives in Sydney with her husband and co-partner in chaos.
